Documents

The «Documents» section contains the documents used to generate files populated with personal data from a list.

Document

Each document contains one or more pages where you can upload a background image for a certificate or diploma. You can also add variables to insert personal data, such as %name or %score.

Additionally, each document comes with its own built-in spreadsheet for personal data. The columns in this spreadsheet automatically correspond to the variables used on the page.

Spreadsheet

In addition to documents with built-in pages and spreadsheets, DiMaker allows you to create standalone spreadsheets. This is useful when you need to generate multiple different files from a single master list of personal data. For example, you might want to use different source documents depending on the place a participant took. In such cases, it's much easier to use one standalone spreadsheet rather than the ones built into individual documents. Furthermore, spreadsheets are used to authenticate users by phone number in widgets and to customize widget behavior.

Documents and spreadsheets (whether built-in or standalone) serve as the data source for generating files with personalized information. Once generated, all files are saved to your «Drive», while the original spreadsheet remains completely unchanged. After the files have been generated, you can safely delete the source document — the generated files in your Drive will not be affected.

Folders

Folders help you organize and manage large numbers of documents.

Deletion

Deleted documents and folders are kept in the Trash for 60 days before being permanently removed.
